Imagine if the Texas Whiskey Festival bought a golf course.
...for the day.
At a charity auction, we won the opportunity to have Harvey Penick Golf Club all to ourselves for one day.
Most people would have planned a company outing.
We had a different idea.
This seemed like too much fun not to share.
So we are inviting the Texas whiskey community.
Links & Drinks 26 brings together an approachable round of golf, Texas whiskey tastings, food, prizes, and the people who make Texas whiskey.
You do not need to be a serious golfer. Harvey Penick Golf Club is a welcoming nine-hole course featuring mostly par 3s and three par 4s, making it enjoyable for experienced players, occasional golfers, and anyone willing to spend the day chasing a little white ball with a friend.
Teams consist of two players, with shotgun starts at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Only one person needs to register the team.
Before your round, check in, collect your swag, warm up, or visit with participating Texas distilleries under the pavilion. After golf, return to the pavilion to taste whiskey, meet the makers, grab food, compare scorecards, and stick around for prizes and closing remarks.
We did not set out to create another golf tournament.
We started with one day at a golf course and figured there was only one thing to do with it:
Invite Texas distilleries.
Invite whiskey lovers.
Pair them with an approachable round of golf.
And create a day worth showing up for.
