Let’s be honest—Texas is one incredible state. From the wide skies of the Panhandle to the Gulf Coast breeze, from El Paso to Texarkana, we’re home to some of the most iconic landscapes, vibrant cities, and proud people in the country.

Same goes for our whiskey.

Texas whiskey stands on its own—shaped by our climate, crafted by passionate makers, and rooted in a tradition that’s still being written. Across the state, you’ll find distilleries putting out rich, flavorful, world-class whiskey that could only come from here.

Below is a list of distilleries making great whiskey in the Lone Star State. We’ll keep it updated as we discover more worth sharing. This list was updated 7/30/2025.

Texas Whiskey Association Members

The following distilleries are proud members of the Texas Whiskey Association (TXWA).

TXWA is a collective of Texas-based distillers dedicated to educating consumers and supporting whiskey made entirely within the borders of the Lone Star State. The association promotes truth and transparency in labeling, while setting certification standards that ensure quality, authenticity, and integrity in every bottle.

Texas-based distilleries, blenders, and bottliers that are not TXWA members.

The following distilleries, blenders, and bottlers are based in Texas but are not members of the Texas Whiskey Association (TXWA).

Many of these producers craft grain-to-glass whiskey or use a combination of sourcing and in-house production. A number are aging their spirits right here in Texas, allowing our unique climate to shape the final character before bottling. One thing’s for sure—there’s some excellent whiskey coming from every corner of the state.
